Client: Airborne Express (DHL)

Platform: Microsoft MapPoint

Summary: Airborne Express (now known as DHL) is a Fortune 500 Company that had yet to delve into route level mapping when it turned to Integral GIS, Inc. With 450 stations across the US, and over 50 routes per station, they were looking for a tool that could efficiently display maps and their operations productivity data. In addition, they sought a route level analysis tool that modeled the required labor hours at any one of their given stations.

The application that we created for them was done under extremely tight budgetary constraints, so cost effective development was a must. The software also had to fit within an established operational environment, so tool output needed to be consistent with their work flow and field procedures. It was concluded that Microsoft MapPoint was a superior development environment after business transportation requirements, budgetary constraints, and the product's compatibility were taken into account.

Result: The software provides the data necessary to enable efficient route planning. Integral GIS, Inc. succeeded in meeting Airborne Express' (now known as DHL) goals of low cost development, effective implementation, and high user adoption rates. These factors contributed to their success in achieving the highest delivery and pick-up productivity to date, and drove the ROI success of this project.
