Client: DHL Worldwide (Airborne Express)

Platform: Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and Microsoft .NET

Summary: DHL Worldwide (formerly known as Airborne Express) partnered with Integral GIS, Inc. to develop mapping and spatial data analysis functions. We created a web-based interface that enables DHL employees to order maps and have them shipped anywhere in the world. We've produced over a thousand maps for DHL Worldwide, and they vary in complexity from general corporate boundaries to more sophisticated route level delivery tools.

Their use of the Stop Density Analysis Tool continues to increase the sophistication of DHL's route analysis and planning. The web ordering interface includes options for using Integral GIS, Inc. to run the application, and it has supported DHL in complex route planning. This partnership ensures that we'll continue to play an important role in DHL's daily operations.

Result: Integral GIS, Inc. is supporting DHL Worldwide's (formerly known as Airborne Express) complex package delivery and pick-up service. The efficient ordering and distribution of corporate maps has enabled DHL to focus on what they do best, which is to efficiently deliver packages.

By removing the GIS functions from their corporate offices, DHL can more efficiently run their operations using our tools for planning and decision making at all organizational levels. These maps have shown ROI benefits throughout the organization as they have cut costs, increased sales, and improved customer service. They have also impacted the location of station warehouse clusters, route layouts and restructuring, productivity assessment of stations and routes, sales and marketing support, properties, contracts and legal disputes.
